A Dream Come True

Veterans in the floral business, first cousins, Judy Kudelka and Sharon Jackson, are excited about the opening of their new floral shop in West called "Divine Designs," located at 120 N, Main Street. Both ladies call West home where they were both born and raised and where they also received their initial floral training with a local florist.

Sharon and Judy both began their employment in the floral business with the H.E.B. grocery chain. Judy worked at H.E.B. for 20 years until 1998. She then went to work for Wal-Mart Department Store as a florist. Sharon started working for H.E.B. 24 years ago. Their work experience in the floral departments of H.E.B. and Wal-Mart is vast. In addition to managing their own departments, they were also responsible for training florist, for merchandising, and for setting up floral departments in various Texas locations. They have received several awards and achievements from H.E.B. and Wal-Mart for their outstanding work.

Never wanting to turn anyone away, both Judy and Sharon have worked out of their homes on weddings, funerals or other special jobs that were out of their respective employer's scope. Whether it be a large wedding at a spectacular hillside villa in Austin, or a special arrangement for a departed loved one, both ladies approached each task with a passion to do the best job possible.

Judy and Sharon have always had the desire to open their own shop. In May of 2007, both were given the opportunity to fulfill that dream. This time there was no excuse not to proceed. With the help and support of their family and friends, events quickly started moving, ultimately leading them to fulfilling the dream that always seemed just out of their grasp.
